Here are the top five tips to transform your booth into a holiday shopper’s paradise, boosting both your visibility and sales. As the holiday season approaches, every craft show vendor wants their booth to stand out. If you’re a small business looking to capture the festive market, a few strategic changes can make a world of difference.

1. Light Up Your Space

Good lighting isn’t just functional; it creates ambiance and attracts attention. Use warm, soft lights to make your booth inviting and highlight your products beautifully. String lights can add a festive touch, while spotlights on specific items draw customers’ eyes to your best sellers. Remember, the brighter your booth, the more welcoming it feels on a busy craft show floor.

2. Design an Inviting Layout

An irresistible booth is not just about what you sell, but how you present it. Create a layout that allows for easy flow of traffic. Place taller items at the back and shorter ones in front so everything is visible. If possible, set up your booth so that customers can walk in or through it. This invites them to step into your world and take a closer look, making them more likely to buy.

3. Price It Right

Pricing can be tricky, but clear, competitive pricing is key during the holiday season. Group items at various price points, and clearly tag every item to avoid customer confusion. Consider offering a ‘deal of the day’ or discounts on bundles to encourage larger purchases. Smart pricing strategies not only attract bargain hunters but also make the buying decision easier for all customers.

4. Add a Personal Touch

Personalization makes a world of difference. Share stories about your crafts, whether on small signs or by chatting with visitors. When customers understand the passion and effort behind each piece, they’re more likely to make a purchase. Also, consider offering to customize items where feasible—this could be as simple as adding initials or choosing colors. Personalized products make great gifts, especially during the holidays!

5. Promote Your Booth

Before the craft show even starts, promote your booth on social media, in local community groups, and through emails. Use attractive photos of your products and booth setup to pique interest. At the event, have a sign-up sheet to collect emails for future marketing. Direct engagement combined with digital outreach will keep your small business top of mind for both new and returning customers.

Implementing these tips will not only increase your craft booth’s appeal but also enhance the overall customer experience. Remember, the goal is to make your booth so irresistible that it stops shoppers in their tracks. Happy selling, and may this holiday season bring you much success and joy!

The Amazon Influencer Program As Your Next Best Side Hustle https://robinwilson.ca/the-amazon-influencer-program-as-your-next-best-side-hustle/ Thu, 29 Aug 2024 11:24:48 +0000 https://robinwilson.ca/?p=1186 Discover how you can turn your social media influence into a rewarding side hustle.

Why the Amazon Influencer Program?

I’ve been diving into side hustles for years and the Amazon Influencer Program is one of the best ones I’ve come across when it first started. So if you’re looking for a rewarding side hustle that taps into your online influence, this program might just be what you need.

If you’re like me and love sharing great products with others, this could be a fantastic way to turn that passion into cash. This program is also an excellent opportunity for those who already have a solid online presence and want to monetize their social media following.

As an Amazon Influencer....

you get to create a personalized storefront on Amazon. You can curate and showcase products you genuinely believe in and recommend them to your followers.

When someone buys through your links, you earn a commission. This basically just turns your social media feed into a mini online shop — and you get paid for it!

The Beauty of this Side Hustle...

is that it allows you to blend your personal interests with a profitable venture. When someone buys through your links, you earn a commission.

Take me, for example. I’m always on the lookout for things that make life a bit better, whether it’s a fantastic Cuisinart coffee grinder that makes my mornings smoother or a Cool Mist Humidifier that’s been a game-changer for dry air in the house. These are the kinds of products I’d be recommending to friends anyway, so why not share them with a broader audience and earn something on the side?

So, if you’re already talking about products you love or giving your two cents on the latest gadgets, why not get rewarded for it? It’s a way to monetize the influence you’ve built, without having to start from scratch. Plus, it’s a pretty flexible gig that you can fit around your current schedule.

Of course, starting as an Amazon Influencer requires some groundwork. You need to build a following and engage with your audience to make the most of the program. While it’s not an instant path to riches, it offers a practical way to earn money by doing what you love. Plus, it’s a flexible side hustle, so you can fit it into your existing schedule without too much hassle.

A Little Good News For You!

amazon influencer program course coming soon

I’m currently working on a course to guide you through the ins and outs of becoming an Amazon Influencer. This course will provide all the details you need to get started and thrive in this program. Stay tuned for more information!

In the meantime, if you’re intrigued by the idea of turning your online influence into a source of income, the Amazon Influencer Program is definitely worth considering.

It’s a great side hustle that not only aligns with your passions but also offers the potential for financial growth. Keep an eye out for our upcoming course to help you navigate this exciting opportunity!

P.S. Some of the links in this post are affiliate links, and I may earn a small commission if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you. Thanks for supporting me—it really means a lot!

“Whatever you like to do, make it a hobby and whatever the world likes to do, make it a business.”

— Warren Buffett

Most of us have something greater within us. Something that starts from a hobby and turns into a passion. In the middle of it comes a sudden thought “What if I start my own business?”

Perhaps it’s not a sudden thought at all. Perhaps your friends and families recommended it after seeing the potential of what you do. It could be a simple crocheting you’ve been doing since you could remember. Or you’re a creative crafter with several cute designs created for family and friends.

There is always a certain demand for everything. No matter how big or small your business idea is, trust me, you already have a market. You just have to find them. And to do that, you have to start your business first! To better help you, here are the easy steps in turning your hobby into a business.

7 Easy Steps In Turning Your Hobby Into a Business

two creative clay masters sitting by workplace and kneading workpieces before making earthenware and make money from their hobbies

If this is your first time venturing into the business industry, it can be scary. If not your first time, it still is scary. It’s your passion after all. What if people don’t like your creation as much as people around you do?

But do not fret! The more it scares you, the more you should do it. In this guide, we’ll help you conquer that fear of turning your hobby into a business, and why you should start doing it now. Let’s start!

1. Ask Yourself: Am I ready?

Set aside the opinions of others and assess your skills on your own.

Are you skilled enough to turn it into a business?

Do you have the passion to sustain it in the long run?

When you do your hobby because it’s a hobby, you can stop when you get tired. You can simply set it aside and come back whenever you want.

It’s different once you enter the business world. You’ll invest more than just time and inspiration. You cannot walk away because there are significant resources invested, both tangible and intangible.

Think of turning your hobby into a business a commitment to yourself, your vision, and the customers you serve. To see the rewards of your hard work, you have to treat it with the dedication it deserves.

Do you think you’re ready for that? Through blood, sweat, and tears, are you confident to start this? Yes, it can sound daunting, but it is worth it!

That’s all you need: confidence, commitment, and hard work. Think about it for ten seconds and if you still want it, then continue with the next step.

2. Identify Your Hobby

What kind of hobby do you currently have? Is it something you do with your bare hands or digitally? Something you do inside the house or outside?

Doing so can help you determine the nature of your hobby. It will determine how to monetize it while considering the market potential, production requirements, and target audience.

3. Conduct Market Research

Whether it’s your first time starting a business or not, you should still start from the basic: market research. Your market is already out there. But before they know you, you should know them first.

You must:

  • Define your target audience: demographics, interest, purchasing behavior

  • Assess Competitors: strength, weakness, strategies, and their offerings

It’s important to identify what customers are currently looking for (or the trend). But remember the basics of economics (the higher the demand, the higher the supply). In order for your products or services to have an edge over the competition, they should be unique and valuable to your customers.

What sets your hobby apart from competitors?

What value do you offer that others don’t?

If your hobby is more into digital designs, look for something with less competition but higher demands. If your hobby involves cooking, research the popular food trends in your local area and add something unique to that recipe.

4. Develop a Business Plan

Not only will this make your planning more professional but a comprehensive business plan can also help sort out your future business. You can do it by yourself, backed by the result of your market research, or ask for professional guidance.

Your business plan should include sections of the following:

  • Business concept

  • Market analysis

  • Marketing Strategy

  • Operation Plan

  • Financial Projections

5. Build Your Brand

If you’re new to sales and marketing, branding is one key to its success. This is where you finally will introduce your business to your target audience. You know who they are, what they like, and where to find them, so it’ll be easy to show them your offerings.

Develop a consistent brand identity across all touchpoints, including your website, packaging, social media profiles, and marketing materials.

If your hobby-turned-business is baking specialty cakes, emphasize creativity, quality ingredients, and/or personalized service. Your brand elements from colours to fonts, and imagery should reflect all those values.

6. Start Small

You have to start somewhere! Nothing gets big overnight.

Instead of diving headfirst into full-scale production or launching a store, why not start with a small-scale operation? Test the waters. This will minimize the risk and validate your business idea.

If you’re into photography, you could start by offering photography services for events like weddings or portraits on weekends. Both have been popular lately. You just have to find the right people and the right place to do it.

Once you gain confidence and understand how to better do it, you can gradually scale up and refine your offerings.

7. Always Love What You Do

Stepping out of our comfort zone is always a fun and scary thought. It’s the same thing with the mere idea of turning your hobby into a business. There will always be questions and uncertainty. No one knows what the future holds and you will never know how far you can get until you try to take that small step. Just always remember the easy steps in turning your hobby into a business as discussed above.

At the end of the day, what matters is your unrequited love for your passion. Whether it succeeds or not, your hobby will always remain yours. Keep hustling and continue loving what you do.

Quick Ways You Can Hustle And Make Money On Craigslist

You might have heard stories of people raking in tons of money from Craigslist. So here are quick ways you can hustle and make money on craigslist. If you want to know how you can have a profitable side hustle on this popular platform, then continue reading this article for ideas!

5 QUICK WAYS YOU CAN HUSTLE AND MAKE MONEY ON CRAIGSLIST

  1. Buy and sell stuff

People sell many kinds of items on Craigslist. Some even give stuff away for free, provided you pick it up. You can find a literal treasure trove if you know where to look.

To make money, you can buy items on the cheap on Craigslist, and then turn around and list the same item for a much higher price! The difference is, of course, your profit.

Another technique you can use is called retail arbitrage where you buy an item on Craigslist, and then sell it on another platform like eBay or social media.

5 QUICK WAYS YOU CAN HUSTLE AND MAKE MONEY ON CRAIGSLIST

  1. Apply for suitable part-time jobs

If you decide to apply for part-time jobs on the platform, make sure you do your due diligence, so you don’t get scammed. If you’re not careful, you can fall victim to numerous scams that are rampant on Craigslist.

Before you get scared, know that there are also plenty of legit jobs on the platform – you just need to weed out the good stuff from the bad.

5 QUICK WAYS YOU CAN HUSTLE AND MAKE MONEY ON CRAIGSLIST

  1. Sell various services

If you have a skill that other people can benefit from, then, by all means, put up a listing on Craigslist advertising that fact. You can sell items in many different categories like automotive, beauty, computer, creative, financial, household, labor, legal, lessons, pet, skilled trade, writing, and more.

income ideas

  1. List extra rooms you want to rent out

If you’ve got an extra room (or two) in your house, then you can list it for free on Craigslist. Make your listing as enticing as possible and be sure to thoroughly vet all interested applicants to make sure they’re serious renters!

hustle

  1. Find leads for your business

If you offer a service and you need clients, then you can head on over to Craigslist and look for people who are looking for your service. For instance, if you’re a designer, you can answer ads from people who are specifically looking for a graphic designer to help them with their logos and graphics needs.

Top Reasons Why Having A Side Hustle Is Good For You

Even if you’re earning top dollar in your day job, you may still want to think about getting a side hustle. Here are some of the top reasons why having a side hustle is good for you:

  1. Improve your quality of life

When you’ve got extra cash flow coming in, then you basically have more disposable income. This means you can use the money to buy your wants and not just your needs. You can go on vacations and do fun things with the family! You can buy the latest gadgets if you like. Of course, do all these fun stuff in moderation. You don’t want to get used to a more expensive lifestyle if your side hustle income isn’t even all that stable yet.

Top Reasons Why Having A Side Hustle Is Good For You

  1. Have an outlet for your creativity

If you work a relatively boring and routine job, then you may not have much room for creativity. A side hustle you’re passionate about will help you get the creative release you so desire. This means that when you work on your day job, you should generally feel good most of the time!

  1. Have a backup plan

Keeping all your eggs in one basket isn’t a good plan. When it comes to finances and income streams, diversity is key. If we have another pandemic like we are right now in April 2020, then you won’t be worried about for or other means of earning money!

  1. Pay debts and loans

If you’ve accrued some debt and loans, then you’ll find it hard to pay off all these if you just depend on your salary. This is especially true if you live paycheck to paycheck and have no savings. If you have a profitable side hustle, you can use the additional cash flow to pay off your debts and loans.

  1. Build your emergency fund

Emergencies don’t exactly announce themselves. They just happen. And when they do, then you better be prepared. If you don’t have an emergency fund, then you could wipe out your entire savings, and you’d fall into even more debt!

  1. You’ll meet new people

There are tons of benefits to meeting new people. You not only widen your horizons, but you also have plenty of opportunities to get referrals from people in your network. You’ll get a new perspective on things, and there’s always the opportunity to learn something new from your new friends!

Top 7 Online Side Hustle Ideas to Generate Extra Cash

Here are the top 7 online side hustle ideas to generate extra cash. An extra $500 to $1000 a month may seem impossible right now. But in this article, I’m going to show you different online side hustle ideas that have the potential to be highly profitable. Let’s begin!

top 7 online side hustle to generate cash

  1. Blogging

You may not see an immediate ROI or return on investment in blogging, but the good thing is it’s pretty much passive income when you start getting some traction. The sky’s pretty much the limit when you think of the income you’ll get from your blog especially once you get a good amount of traffic from search engines and social media!

  1. Affiliate Marketing

You can promote your affiliate links on your blog or your social media accounts. Just make sure you promote something that’s going to actually add value to your followers.

  1. Video Marketing

You can promote sponsored products via video marketing. You can do video reviews and tutorials on YouTube and monetize them with ads and affiliate links!

  1. Social Media Influencer

When you’ve got a considerable following on social media, and you get pretty good engagement rates on your content, then you’re technically a social media influencer. You can easily command premium rates from brands who want to do business with you.

  1. Social Media Manager

Not all businesses know what to do with their social media accounts. As a social media manager, you have the opportunity to make a significant impact on businesses. The great thing is you can have many different clients at the same time because it’s relatively easy to automate social media activity!

  1. Sell Information Products

Selling eCourses and eBooks is very popular nowadays. It’s relatively easy to create content like this, and it’s easier to just outsource it to freelancers who can write faster and better than you.

  1. Freelance Work

If you’re interested in freelancing online – like writing, designing, building apps and websites, etc. – then you should check out sites like Upwork (https://www.upwork.com) and Freelancer (https://www.freelancer.com).

Note, however, that these are global marketplaces. So, you’ll have people from all over the world competing on price and skill. If you want to set yourself apart from the competition and you’re extremely confident in your skills, then don’t be afraid to bid rates you know you deserve!

How to Choose The Right Side Hustle For You

How to choose the right side hustle for you? If you do a Google search right now for the best money-making side hustles, you’ll find articles that feature a few hundred different ideas. These posts are literally a minefield of ideas, but how does that relate to you?

In this article, we’re going to answer this important question so you can be on your way to earning your first dollars from your side hustle!
So, the first thing you need to do is to make a list of the things you’re passionate about. This includes your hobbies (yes, you can make some money by doing your hobbies!), skills and your interests.

Starting with hobbies is always a good idea because it means you can do these tasks without getting bored. Skills are also a good thing to include on the list because it’s something you know you can do easily. If you’ve got music skills, then you can think of ways to make some money off of music! Lastly, listing down your interests will help you further narrow down the things you want to do.

Ideally, what you want to do is to choose a side hustle that you’re passionate about (preferably a hobby), is relatively easy for you to do, and is something you’re deeply interested in.

Keeping yourself motivated while doing your side hustle is important because you’re basically working solo. If you let your motivation slide, then you’re going to fail at your side hustle. So, right from the get go, it’s best to choose something you’re going to like doing for a long, long time.

Many people have turned their side hustles into full-time careers and businesses. But it most probably took them years. It took a lot of hard work and dedication. They also learned from their failures and mistakes.

Succeeding at your side hustle will mean developing an entrepreneur mindset. This means not being easily discouraged, and the ability to think outside the box. Entrepreneurs think big and they focus on their long-term vision. They don’t sweat the small stuff.

If you want to turn your side hustle into a successful business venture someday, then focus on that goal. Do everything within your power to ensure your dreams come to fruition. There’s no better validation that you chose the right side hustle than by actually succeeding at it!

Remember…
